How to Scan Your Hollywood Trading Cards NFC Tag
Tap your slab’s NFC chip or scan the QR code on the back of the label to open its CAP Authentics record, then save the card to your HTC Collector Club collection. No app download or phone connection setup is needed.
Use the QR code — iPhone or Android
- Open your phone’s Camera and point it at the QR code on the back of the label.
- Tap the link that appears to open your card’s CAP Authentics record.
- Follow the Add to your HTC collection steps below. You can use the QR code instead of tapping the NFC chip.
iPhone: open your card in CAP with NFC
- Unlock your iPhone and keep the screen on. Use a model with built-in NFC tag reading, such as iPhone XS, XR, or newer.
- Hold the top edge of your iPhone close to the slab’s NFC chip. Keep it steady for a few seconds.
- Tap the notification to open your card’s CAP Authentics record in your browser. Use Wi-Fi or mobile data to load the page.
Android: open your card in CAP with NFC
- On an NFC-enabled Android phone, open Settings, search for NFC, and turn it on. Unlock your phone and keep the screen on.
- Hold the back of your phone close to the slab’s NFC chip. The reader’s position varies by model, so move the phone slightly if needed and hold steady.
- Open the link or notification to view your card’s CAP Authentics record. Some phones open it automatically. Use Wi-Fi or mobile data to load the page.
Add to your HTC collection — NFC or QR
- On your card’s CAP record, tap Add to HTC Collection.
- Sign in with your existing Hollywood Trading Cards customer account if prompted. If you do not have an account, choose the option to create one. Your card stays selected while you sign in.
- Check the card shown, then tap Add to my collection. Wait for confirmation and choose View my collection.
Your card is saved to your HTC account. A card already in your collection will not be added twice.
Having trouble?
- QR code not detected: make sure the whole code is visible, improve the lighting, and move your phone slightly farther away. Use your phone’s built-in QR scanner if the Camera does not show a link.
- No NFC notification: move the phone slightly, hold it steady, and try removing a thick or metal phone case. On Android, confirm that NFC is enabled and supported by your phone.
- iPhone NFC not detected: close Camera or Wallet if open, unlock the phone, and try again with the screen on.
- CAP opens but the button is missing: refresh your card’s CAP results page. If it is still missing, contact HTC with the card’s certification number.
- Card not showing in your collection: finish the Add to my collection step and check that you are signed in to the same HTC account.
